The Rome City School Pre-Kindergarten program is funded by the GA State Lottery and is governed by Bright from the Start and supplemented by the District. The GA Lottery Pre-K is an age-appropriate instructional program that prepares students for a successful transition to kindergarten and beyond. Additionally, this nurturing environment addresses students’ academic, social and emotional needs while preparing for kindergarten readiness. The goal is to ensure that all students gain the needed foundational skills to propel them into a successful future.
GA Lottery Pre-K serves students who turn four years of age on or before September 1st of the school year in which the student begins Pre-K.
The following Rome City Schools have Pre-K programs:
Anna K. Davie Elementary
Elm Street Elementary
West Central Elementary
West End Elementary
Enrollment for the RCS PreK program operates on a lottery-based, tiered system.
Tier I - applicants living in the school’s required attendance zone
Tier II - applicants living inside all attendance zones for Rome City Schools
Tier III - applicants living outside the attendance zones of Rome City Schools
To fill all available slots, Tier I applications are drawn first. If slots remain unfilled, Tier II applications will be drawn, followed by Tier III applications. All applications not drawn will be added to the school’s waitlist.
For information on your Rome City Schools attendance zone, call us at 706-236-5050, or visit your nearest elementary school.
