ROME, GA - Rome City Schools is proud to announce the introduction of its new Clear Bag Procedures for all school athletics and performing arts events held at Barron Stadium. This proactive step aims to ensure a secure environment for all spectators while adding an additional measure to our multi-layered safety plan.
The adoption of the Clear Bag Procedures is geared towards improving public safety and simplifying entry processes for these events. Attendees are allowed to bring a single clear bag, a small bag no larger than five inches by seven inches, or a clear 1-gallon plastic storage bag.
Exceptions to the Clear Bag Procedures will be made for credentialed media, diaper bags, and those with necessary medical items after proper inspection at the designated areas. These inspections will be smoothly managed ensuring a hassle-free entry for all participants.
This initiative emphasizes Rome City Schools' commitment to establishing a secure and enjoyable atmosphere at Barron Stadium events. We strongly believe in the coexistence of safety and community spirit, and this move reflects our dedication to the safety of our fans.
The Clear Bag Procedures will be implemented starting at the Corky Kell Kickoff Classic on Friday, August 18, 2023. If you plan to attend this event, please adhere to the outlined procedures on our website and social media channels.
As we embrace these Clear Bag Procedures, Rome City Schools invites you to join us in adopting this positive and forward-looking approach to public safety. Let's come together to create an environment where everyone can participate in our events with peace of mind. Let’s be clear!
