Rome City Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Wade as Maintenance and Facilities Officer.
Wade brings three decades of educational experience to the role. Most recently, Wade was a PE Teacher and boys basketball coach at Lanier High School in Lakeland, Georgia. He has served as a math teacher at several high schools, including Tift County, Americus Sumter County, Americus, and Monroe Comprehensive High. He also has served as an athletic director or assistant athletic director and assistant principal at South Georgia Technical College, and Turner County High.
Wade also has an extensive coaching resume in both college and high school and says he plans to bring that experience to his new role.
“I'm extremely excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Rome City Schools system and work for Dr. Holland. I have nothing but respect for what he has done not only in Rome but throughout his career,” Wade says. “My family and I love the city of Rome. We are extremely excited to get to Rome and get started working. Hopefully, I can help add some valuable pieces to what already is in place.”
Wade earned his BS in Mathematics Education from Georgia Southwestern University.
