Rome City Schools has collaborated with local and state law enforcement to thoroughly investigate any and all threats. We’ve worked closely with these agencies to ensure our schools maintain a strong safety focus, as we’ve done throughout the year.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 21, and the Farmers’ Market for Families at the Parent Resource Center. There will be free produce and a free children’s book while supplies last. The event is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and includes a craft station and petting zoo for kids, music, a community resource fair, and more. We can’t wait to see everyone there. #ReimagineRCS



The Rome City Schools district is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and staff. In collaboration with the Rome Police Department, a student at Rome High School was arrested today for making threats.
Please be assured that at no time were students or staff at Rome High School in danger. We appreciate the swift response and cooperation of the Rome Police Department in addressing this matter and ensuring the safety of our school community.


The Rome Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 10 at the Rome City Schools College and Career Academy located at 990 Veterans Memorial Highway NE., Rome, Georgia 30161. The caucus will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Room A211 and the regular meeting will start at 5:45 p.m. in Room A201.

Rome City Schools is deeply saddened by the tragic death of Ricky Aspinwall, a Rome High School graduate. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and everyone affected by the tragedy at Apalachee High School.


The safety of our students is our top priority. We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred at Apalachee High School in Barrow County. In response, Rome City Schools will be increasing security efforts for the rest of this week. Our thoughts are with the Apalachee High School community during this difficult time.

Rome, GA - The Rome City Schools Board of Education will have a called board meeting on Monday, Aug. 19 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at Rome City School's former board room at 508 East Second Street, Rome, Georgia 30161. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct the superintendent's review.
