Main Elementary School is playing host to a Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 27 at the school. The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature free school supplies, free food, free haircuts, and more. There will also be dessert food trucks. Several Rome High students placed among the nation’s best at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Seattle recently. Mariela Cordova-Alfaro was named a top ten national finalist and finished sixth place in the nation for her Level 3 Nutrition and Wellness Project. She also received a gold medal for her project. Leslie Vicente-Ramos and Kevin Lam received a silver medal for the Chapter Service Project. Esmeralda Pelico-Natividad and Julia Patteson received a bronze medal for the Chapter in Review Project. Two Rome High School students finished among the tops in the nation at the recent FBLA Middle and High School National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla. James Goble won second in the nation in Help Desk, and Stewart Cates took ninth place in the nation in Networking Infrastructures. Congratulations on your achievements. ROME, GA - The Rome City Schools Board of Education will hold a called meeting and work session on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The purpose of the called meeting is to review personnel and other items. Immediately following the called meeting they will go into a work session.
The purpose of the work session is School Achievement Impact Check. Both the called meeting and work session will be held at Rome City Schools Former Board Room, 508 East Second Street, Rome, Georgia 30161.

Several Rome City Schools teachers attended the Georgia Department of Education’s MathCon this past week with a couple of teachers earning accolades. Phyllis Morrison, who teaches math at Rome Middle School, was a finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science. Jennifer Vaughn, who is an instructional coach at Rome Middle School, was named a finalist in Leadership Engagement in Mathematics and a finalist in Leadership Excellence in Mathematics. Hope Huetter, who teaches math at Elm Street Elementary, attended the conference as did Charissa Ondovic, who is the match coach at Elm Street. Ondovic was a presenter for the Hospitality Committee and is also a MatchCon Ambassador. We are proud of your hard work. #ReimagineRCS
