Attention Rome City Schools Families:
Based on conversations with our Local Emergency Management office regarding the potential for severe weather tomorrow, Tuesday, January 9, including flash flooding and high wind gusts, Rome City Schools will be delaying school TWO HOURS. This decision prioritizes the safety of our students and staff by allowing for travel during daylight hours when weather conditions are expected to be improved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but safety is always our top priority.
Time Change Examples:
Elementary Schools:
- If your child's normal school start time is 7:15 AM, it will be delayed to 9:15 AM.
- Bus pick-up times will be two hours later than usual.
- Car Rider Drop-off times will be two hours later than usual.
- Staff will report two hours later than their normal arrival time.
Secondary Schools:
- If your child's normal school start time is 8:30 AM, it will be delayed to 10:30 AM.
- Bus pick-up times will be two hours later than usual.
- Car Rider Drop-off times will be two hours later than usual.
- Staff will report two hours later than their normal arrival time.
Dismissal times will remain the same for all schools.
Please be sure to adjust your schedules accordingly and check for any further updates from the school district. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our school community.
Stay safe and have a good day!

As we closely monitor the weather conditions, rest assured that the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We will continue to assess the situation and keep you informed of any developments. Stay tuned for further updates. #ReimagineRCS
