
In the past, Rome City Schools Book Club was limited to grades K-8, but given last year’s success, the Federal Programs Department expanded the program this year to include grades 9-12. All told, Rome City Schools was able to provide 5 books each to 6,290 students. That’s 31,450 total books!

ROME GROWN SPOTLIGHT: This week we would like to honor Rome High Class of 2017's Nehemiah Reddish. Nehemiah, aka Nemo, was an outstanding student athlete at Rome High School and carried on that tradition at Shorter University. He is now a CTI paraprofessional and football coach at Rome High School. He is an amazing mentor to the students and we are so proud of him! Congratulations on your accomplishments, Nemo! ROME GROWN SPOTLIGHT: This week, we honor Shelby Tison, Class of 2017! Shelby was a four-year football cheerleader and a three-year competition cheerleader at Rome High School. She continued her cheerleading success as a flyer on the Cheerleading Team at the University of West Georgia, winning UCA Nationals three times. Shelby graduated with honors from the University of West Georgia, earning a bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Currently, she is pursuing her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and will be graduating soon.
