ROME GROWN SPOTLIGHT: Rome City Schools would like to honor RHS C/O 2018's, Quenterrius Kennemore! After 32 weeks, 20 weeks at the academy, and 12 weeks of training in the field, Quenterrius Kennemore graduated from the 113th State Trooper School. Officer Kennemore is now doing what he loves, servicing the Rome and Cartersville areas as a State Trooper. We are all so proud of his many accomplishments. n this week's edition of #BacktothePack, we're shining a spotlight on Antavia Moten, class of 2013! From Main Elementary to Rome Middle and Rome High, Ms. Moten is now passing on her love of education to the next generation as a Kindergarten Teacher at Anna K. Davie Elementary. In addition to her teaching role, she also coaches the Rome Middle School Football and Basketball Cheer Teams! We couldn't be more proud to welcome Ms. Moten 'Back to the Pack!
Last night, the Rome High School Band had its Spring Showcase, featuring all the ensembles in the Rome High School Band Program. The Wind
Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble all performed for the Spring Showcase.
When we say school nutrition professionals are heroes, we mean it! Between preparing delicious food, adhering to nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, they have a lot on their plate and for that; we are so thankful for everything you do!

The Rome City Schools Board of Education held its annual Budget Retreat on Friday, April 21st, and Saturday, April 22nd. The retreat allowed board members the opportunity to review the preliminary budget information for the 2023-2024 school year. The tentative budget will be approved at the Regular May Board Meeting, and the final budget will be adopted at the Regular June Board Meeting.
On Friday, April 28th, our Rome Middle School readers traveled to Stars and Strikes in Dallas, Georgia to enjoy a great day of bowling, laser tag, and games! The top 150 middle school readers, as well as Main and Elm Street 6th graders, enjoyed a fun-filled day celebrating their reading accomplishments. In order to attend, students gained points by meeting their MAP growth goals, turning in their reading logs, creating book talks for others to see, or constantly modeling positive reading habits in class. Science, Social Studies, and Math teachers were also able to reward positive reading points to all students.

ROME GROWN SPOTLIGHT: This week we would like to honor Rome High Class of 2007's Chase Steven Anderson.
Since graduation, Chase has performed in countless roles on the musical theatre stage, in film, and on television.
Most recently, Chase appeared in Showtime’s George and Tammy, and will appear in a musical adaptation of The Color Purple expected to be released in December.
