ROME, GA - The Rome City Schools Board of Education will hold a called meeting and work session on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The purpose of the called meeting is to review personnel and other items. Immediately following the called meeting they will go into a work session.
The purpose of the work session is School Achievement Impact Check. Both the called meeting and work session will be held at Rome City Schools Former Board Room, 508 East Second Street, Rome, Georgia 30161.

Several Rome City Schools teachers attended the Georgia Department of Education’s MathCon this past week with a couple of teachers earning accolades. Phyllis Morrison, who teaches math at Rome Middle School, was a finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science. Jennifer Vaughn, who is an instructional coach at Rome Middle School, was named a finalist in Leadership Engagement in Mathematics and a finalist in Leadership Excellence in Mathematics. Hope Huetter, who teaches math at Elm Street Elementary, attended the conference as did Charissa Ondovic, who is the match coach at Elm Street. Ondovic was a presenter for the Hospitality Committee and is also a MatchCon Ambassador. We are proud of your hard work. #ReimagineRCS

The Rome Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Rome City Schools College and Career Academy located at 990 Veterans Memorial Highway NE., Rome, Georgia 30161. The caucus will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Room A201 and the regular meeting will start at 5:45 p.m. in Room A201.

Important Update for the Rome High School Graduation Ceremony
We are excited to celebrate our graduates tomorrow as planned! Please be advised, there is no change to the graduation ceremony schedule. The procession will begin promptly at 8:45 AM. Gates will open at 7:30 AM.
Given the potential for inclement weather, we advise all attendees to come prepared with appropriate rain gear (ponchos) and towels for seating. Please note that umbrellas will not be permitted in the seating area to ensure everyone has an unobstructed view.
